College Retreat
Supported and operated lighting for a large-scale college retreat, stepping into increasing responsibility throughout the weekend and leading production in key moments.
Programming
I assisted with load-in and played a key role in building and preparing the lighting system, focusing on networking, addressing, and programming.
While I did not design the rig, I worked through the technical details required to bring the vision to life – handling cabling, patching fixtures, and solving challenges as they arose.
This reflects my strength in taking a creative concept and executing it reliably in practice.
Adaptability
I ran lighting on a grandMA console, building the showfile essentially from scratch.
This pushed me to apply concepts I’ve been learning in MA, from updating groups and presets as the system evolved to implementing phasers for dynamic moments like a late-night dance set.
It was a fantastic opportunity to grow in a powerful platform while actively problem-solving in a live environment.
As the weekend progressed, I stepped into a leadership role, including leading production for later sessions, coordinating technical details, and guiding the team through complex moments.
I also led load-out, directing over 30 volunteers to safely and efficiently disassemble and pack equipment. This project reflects both my technical growth and my ability to step up and lead when needed.
